Jamie Ann Rammelsberg, 44, of Sunbury, passed away far too soon on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Jamie was born on December 1, 1980, in Delaware, Ohio, to Debra and Ray Rammelsberg.
She graduated from Olentangy High School in 1999. She went to the University of Findlay where she earned her Bachelor's in Athletic Training and then earned her Master's in Athletic Training at Barry University.
Jamie began her career as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, then served as an Athletic Trainer at NovaCare Rehabilitation in Cincinnati and as Head Athletic Trainer at South Kingstown High School in Rhode Island before joining OSU. She spent the last 12 years at The Ohio State University in the Department of Orthopaedics as Lead Clinical Athletic Trainer, where she obtained her OTC licensure, worked across multiple locations, and assisted in surgeries for sports medicine and orthopedics.
After sharing nine wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and adventure, Jamie married her soulmate, Kellen Beckwith, on August 24, 2025. Their wedding was a joyful celebration of their bond and the beautiful future they were so excited to build together.
Jamie was a loving, warm, and generous soul who never met a stranger and always had a smile to share. Grounded in her faith and tireless in her compassion, she lived a life of selfless service to others. Nine years ago, after spotting a bumper sticker that sparked her curiosity, Jamie made the remarkable decision to donate one of her kidneys to a stranger. When asked why, she simply said, "I can live with one kidney, and somebody else could benefit from the other." Practical, kind-hearted, and maybe a little fearless-that was Jamie in a nutshell. From baking birthday cakes for hospice patients to volunteering for countless charitable causes, Jamie gave freely and joyfully. Her kindness touched everyone she met, leaving the world a little brighter-and a lot better-because she was in it.
Jamie was adventurous, creative, and endlessly talented-kind of like a superhero, but with a hammer and a paintbrush instead of a cape. Alongside her husband, Kellen, and her dad, Ray, she flipped houses and found joy in repurposing just about anything-including turning an old horse trailer into a chic mobile bar. Her passion for DIY was matched only by her generosity in sharing her skills-whether you wanted to learn or she just needed someone to hold the tape measure.
Jamie inherited her mother Debbie's vibrant spirit and creative energy, always finding new ways to express herself and inspire others. She even mastered the fine art of whistling through a blade of grass or the top of an acorn-skills she happily taught to anyone brave enough to try.
Her lifelong love of travel started young: from cheerleading competitions in high school to college trips as a student trainer for various sports teams. Her passion for adventure continued throughout her life, with highlights like a memorable family trip to Europe and the beloved annual getaway to Dale Hollow, where she loved boating, relaxing, and soaking up time with those she cared about.
Jamie's days were filled with gardening, playing pickleball, and savoring good food, great wine, and even better conversations-because for her, the best moments were always shared with the people she loved most.
Jamie is survived by her loving husband, Kellen Beckwith; her devoted parents, Debbie and Ray Rammelsberg; and her brother, Mark (Nicole) Rammelsberg. She was a proud and adoring aunt to Nevaeh, Jackson, and Sawyer Rammelsberg.
She is also survived by her cherished extended family, including aunts and uncles Glenna and Tim Wile, Ann and Bill Kanode, Bill and Ann Rammelsberg, Janice and Steve Moore, Steve and Michelle Rammelsberg, John and Connie Moore, and Melody and Rod Meade; her beloved grandfather, Clay Rammelsberg; and many, many cousins and "double cousins" who brought joy to her life.
In addition, Jamie was lovingly embraced by her extended family through marriage: grandmother Gloria Knappenberger; parents-in-law Dirk and Barbara Beckwith; sister-in-law Megan (Tim) Calamita; brother-in-law Christian (Casie) Beckwith; and niece Alieya Calamita and aunts and uncles Debra and Jeffrey Lockledge, Kim Beckwith, Karen Beckwith, and William Knappenberger-all of whom held her close in their hearts.
Jamie also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Tonya Rutledge, her cherished Annie's Wine Cottage family, and her beloved work friends Samar, Karen, and Kristen, and so many others-all of whom held a special place in her heart and brought joy and laughter to her days.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmothers, Doris A. Rammelsberg, June Lett, and Suzanne Kerstein, and by her grandfathers, J. Paul Moore, Allan Knappenberger, and Dean Beckwith.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible nurses, doctors, and support staff at Mount Carmel St. Ann's for their exceptional care, compassion, and kindness.
