Jane P. McClure, 89, of McMurray, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 15, 2025, in the St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born May 14, 1936, in Houston, a daughter of the late Esley Patsch and Della Dunn Patsch Spry. She was raised from age seven by Irwin and Isla Patsch Sprowls. She began her education in Houston Elementary and graduated from Peters Township High School in 1954. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics in 1958 from Carnegie Tech, where she belonged to the Kappa Kappa Gamma National Sorority. Jane started her teaching career as a home economics teacher at Chartiers-Houston High School then at Canon-McMillan High School. This was followed by working as a home economist for West Penn Power, where she helped teach people how to use their new appliances. She spent the longest time teaching home economics at Upper St. Clair High School, retiring in 1996. Mrs. McClure was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a Deacon and Elder and belonged to the Ruth Circle. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Chartiers Chapter #97, Order of the Eastern Star in Canonsburg and in her retirement, she volunteered for the Canonsburg-Houston Meals on Wheels. Jane enjoyed playing cards belonging to her card club since 1959. With her late husband, they were active in the Walter P. Chrysler Club. On May 31, 1958, she married her best friend and high school sweetheart Bob McClure who died December 15, 2013. Surviving are three children, Kathy DeLuca (David) of McMurray; Scott McClure (Allison) and Doug McClure (Jennifer Gray) both of Venetia; seven grandchildren, Alexa DeLuca (Tristan Brown), Dan DeLuca and Cassi DeLuca; Ben McClure (Laura) and Will, Brad and Marshall McClure; two great grandchildren, Tessa Brown and Logan McClure; and two half-brothers, Esley and Gary Patsch. A half-sister, Beverly Pincus is deceased. Jane had three dear friends from the time she grew up on McNutt St. in Houston, Joyce Mathot who survives and Barbara Pack and Helen Mazza who are deceased. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Center Presbyterian Church, 255 Center Church Road, McMurray, PA 15317. Interment will be private in the Finleyville Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Visiting Angels for the care of Jane over the last three years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Center Presbyterian Church, Building Fund.
