RUTLAND, VT- Janet S. Harvey of Boston, MA and formerly of Florence, VT died Monday evening November 10, 2025 at the Rutland Center for Living and Rehabilitation.
She was born March 6, 1954 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, VT, the daughter of Norman P. and Verna (Palmer) Harvey.
Janet spent her early years in Rochester, VT in North Hollow, moving to Florence, VT in 1967 when her father purchased his own farm there. She graduated from Otter Valley Union High School and Champlain College. In 1979 she relocated to Boston, where for the last 26 years she was employed as a legal secretary with Ropes and Gray LLP. in the Prudential Building.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cooking for people she loved. A thanksgiving tradition of family at the farm in Florence turned into a celebration with friends at Tom English's Cottage in South Boston in recent years.
Jan enjoyed playing the piano and was a Boston Sports fan, especially the Patriots.
Survivors include a brother Matthew Harvey of Proctor, VT, a niece Kristine Harvey of Florence, VT, and friend Micheal O'Keefe of South Boston, MA
She was predeceased by her father in 2000, her mother in 2012 and her brother N. Kimber Harvey on Dec 3, 2019
Memorial Services will be in Boston at a later date and in Rochester, VT on December 6, 2025 at 11am at the Rochester Federated Church in Rochester, VT with a burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
