Janet McKinney, 67 of San Leon, Texas died on January 6th, 2024. She was able to pass peacefully in the home she designed herself, as her loving companion of 29 years, Robert McBride III, cared for her in her final days.
She was born in Middlebourne, West Virginia in 1956 and was raised by her parents, Delores and John Bennett in the Arlington Addition of Clarksburg. She graduated in 1974 from Liberty High School before moving to Bridgeport and marrying her now ex-husband Sidney McKinney. While residing in Bridgeport, she started her career at Wal-Mart, which she continued for 30 years. She also met her loving partner, Robert. Janet and Robert later moved to Texas and settled in the coastal town of San Leon.
Janet was preceded in death by her biological mother Elletra Morgan and her adoptive parents John and Delores Bennett as well as her sister Brenda Cochran.
Janet is survived by her son, Paul (Amy) McKinney and daughter Jennell (Roger) Connelly; her grandchildren Isla and Tanner McKinney and Eden and Ellie Connelly; her sister Tammy (Dale) See and brother-in-law Allen Cochran. She will also be missed by Robert's children Cassie (Eric) Russo and Lindsay (Danny) Millican and grandchildren Collette and Karlie Russo and Sabrina and D.J. Millican.
