Jason Ashley Cyphers, 44, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 4:30 PM in Pinewood Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. April Raines. The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 2 until 4 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Jason was born in Radford, Virginia and lived his early life in Dublin, Virginia until he moved to Greenville in 1989. He was a 1997 graduate of J. H. Rose High School and received an Associate Degree in Architectural Technology from Pitt Community College.
Jason was employed as an operations business analyst for Greenville Utilities in the gas engineering department. He also did contract work for the NC Emergency Management. He had served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary from 2008 until 2018, as a member of the air crew flying coastal patrols, search and rescue, logistics missions, as well as head of their graphic design department.
Jason volunteered with the Eastern Pines Fire & Rescue for 25 years and was named as a lifetime member. He also did wood-working; creating laser engraved products, and recently obtained his amateur radio license (W4CMJ). He loved camping, hiking/backpacking, overlanding, kayaking, and graphic design (owning his own side business – JC Designs).
Jason is survived by his wife, Michelle Cyphers; daughter, Charlotte Ashleigh Cyphers; parents, Bill and Sharon Cyphers of Greenville; brother, Chris Cyphers and wife, Susan of Greenville; nieces, Elise Tyndall, and Katherine Cyphers; parents-in-law, Bobby and Linda Elks of Greenville; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Hagee and husband, Luke; and their daughter, Emma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PNC Bank for his daughter, Charlotte. Checks may be made to Charlotte or Michelle Cyphers and mailed to 1031 Derbyshire Lane, Greenville, NC 27858. If any questions, please contact Linda Elks, 252-531-1001.
