Lafayette-Jason Charles Hebert, 43, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at his residence.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine A. Hebert; siblings, half brother, Jonathan C. Thibodeaux Jr. and half sister, Angelle Thibodeaux; maternal aunts, Liz Vigre (Mike), Judy Lejeune and her partner, Rebecca Benoit; and cousin, Bailey Miller.
He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Wilda Thibodeaux; paternal aunt, Barbara Bourque (OJ); paternal uncles, Michael Thibodeaux and Chris Thibodeaux; and the entire Thibodeaux and Bourque cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Cleve Hebert; maternal grandmother, MaryLou Hebert; maternal aunt/godmother, Carolyn J. Hebert and maternal uncle, Michael Hebert.
He was also preceded in death by his father, Jonathon C. Thibodeaux, Sr.; paternal grandfather, Louis Thibodeaux, Sr.; paternal aunt, Melissa Thibodeaux; and paternal uncles, Louis Thibodeaux, Robert Thibodeaux and Nicholas Thibodeaux.
Jason was an Acadiana High School Class of 1997 graduate and attended UL of Lafayette. He worked as a Mud/Fluid Engineer.
Jason was kind, funny, loving, compassionate and had a huge heart. He never judged anyone for who they were or how they chose to live, nor did he ever see color when meeting someone. He had many special people who made lasting impacts in his life, from birth until present day. It's safe to say the person he loved most was his grandmother, MaryLou. Their bond was like no other. She was his Buddy until her dying day.
There are so many things Jason loved doing during his time on Earth. His cheerleading days in High School & College, dancing, gaming, snowboarding movies; the list is long. After having multiple surgeries and many health issues for many years and fighting so hard for relief, he unfortunately lost his battle. We as a family take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering or in pain. There is no doubt he is finally at peace and living his best life. Jason without a doubt would want everyone to save their tears and instead, be kinder to people, extend a random act of kindness, donate to your favorite charity, but mostly, have peace in your heart.
