Jay Thomas Obituary
Jay was a graduate of Seymour High School, class of 1978. He became one of Seymour's best all-time athletes excelling in basketball and track. After graduating high school Jay attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
Jay worked at Buck Carr Roofing, Golden Foundry and served as a counselor at Atterbury Job Corps.
Jay is survived by his mother, Veatrice; four brothers, Daniel Thomas, Jr., David Thomas, Jason Thomas, and Justin Thomas; his long-time companion Tina Theilen; six children, Angel (Thomas) Dabner, Isaiah Thomas, Keighana Thomas, Jacob Eckstein, Jordan Thomas, and Kenny Thomas. He is also survived by several grandchildren, two uncles, Ralph Blewett, and Rickey Pennybaker; two aunts, Paula Blewett, and Rita Perry and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Thomas, Sr.; paternal grandparents, James, and Fannie Thomas; his maternal grandparents Melvin and Oneida Blewett and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jay shared an inner love for all that knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of Jay's life will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the Voss and Son's Funeral Home in Seymour. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital.

Jay i can remember you giving me that warm hug at the westend reunion few yrs ago that hug was saying welcome brother to the westend reunion and like family
