On Thursday, April 17, 2025, Jean "Candy" Stiff, world traveler, devoted wife and mother, peacefully took her last breath at the age of 78.

Candy was born in Durham, NC, where she grew up, completed her education, and began her career. She embarked on a whirlwind European tour in 1972, which included her first encounter with a fellow traveler named Tom. After she fell head over heels in love with this endearing and handsome man, she relocated to Jacksonville, FL, in 1975 to get married and start her family with Tom Stiff.

Candy was a trusted, kind friend. She has inspired others with her boldness, courage, and bravery as she fearlessly navigated the challenges of life.

As she lived life to the fullest, Candy's favorite pastimes include: gossiping about her favorite Hollywood stars, planning and exploring vacations to locations such as Banff, San Francisco, Hawaii, and the Bahamas, gardening, dancing and singing to the Beatles, and spending time with her friends in her bowling league.

Candy is survived by her brother, Winston, and her daughter, Hilary.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 until service time.
