Jean Yeomans, 97 passed away on February 28, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home surrounded by the wonderful staff.
Born in Cranston on Sept 21, 1927, she was a graduate of Cranston East High School and Edgewood Secretarial School She worked as a secretary for a short time but gave that up for the important and challenging job of stay-at-home mom for her 3 children.
Jean was an avid reader, interested in many subjects including the Civil War, Greek mythology, detective stories, and The Royal Family. In addition to her family, Jean loved the ocean. Her childhood memories of her summer home at Quonset Point were among her favorite stories. As an adult, she and her husband took many trips to Bar Harbour Maine.
Jean is survived by her two sons, Donald Yeomans of North Carolina, Gordon Yeomans and his wife Deborah of Connecticut, and her daughter Betsie and husband David Vrablic of Florida.
She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Blackwell and her husband Jason, Mark Yeomans and his wife Andrea, Kevin Yeomans and his wife Erin all of Connecticut. and Brandon Vrablic of Colorado. Jean was also the great-grandmother of 3, James and Genevieve Yeomans and Henry Blackwell.
She was predeceased by her husband Gordon C. Yeomans, her two sisters, Doris Rose and Helen Sweet, and her daughter-in-law Nancy Yeomans.
A special thank you from Jean's entire family to the staff of the Saint Elizabeth Community who took such wonderful care of her.
