Jeanette (Sedall) Baltus went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2024.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 11:00AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM-7:00PM on Wednesday May 29, 2024, at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will also be held from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the church Thursday before the service.
Jeanette was born on June 9, 1934, to Edward Sr. and Frances (Czlapinski) Sedall.
She graduated from Rudolph High School and started working as a telephone operator at age 16. She then went to work at Consolidated Papers.
Jeanette married Jim Baltus Sr. on September 1, 1956, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Sigel. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage. As she was having her eight children, she quit work to become a stay-at-home mom and homemaker until all of her children were in school at which time she went back to work for Consolidated Papers.
Jeanette's greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren with candy, cookies, and ice cream. Her home or apartment was the gathering place every Sunday for family dinners and get-togethers.
Jeanette was a Girl Scout leader, a room mother at her children's school, and an election worker for the town of Sigel.
She enjoyed card parties with family and friends, traveling, casino trips, and playing bingo. She passed her love of flowers and gardening onto her children. Another hobby of hers was genealogy. Jeanette created volumes of family ancestry going back many generations for both her and Jim's families.
Jeanette's Catholic faith was so important to her and she was a very active member at Holy Rosary in Sigel and St. James in Vesper. Currently, she was a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Evie (Todd) Nielsen and their children Sarah and Eric, Anne (Tom) Iwanski and their children Matthew and Michael, Carol Livernash and her children Ryan and Stacy, and Emmy (Ron) Joosten and their children Andy and Jenny; sons, Jim (Denise) Baltus and their children James, Mandi, Mindy, Kristi, and Mike, and Gary (Darlene) Baltus and their children Josh, Jeff, Taylor, and Austin for a total of 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers, Jim (Lynn) and Jerry (Linda) Sedall; brother-in-law, Jim (Barb) Brehm; and sisters-in-law, Bernie, Alvina, and Evie (Bob).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; sons, Fran and Larry; parents; sister, Marie Brehm; brothers Ed (Mary) Sedall, and Don (Bette) Sedall; brothers and sisters in law, Sylvester, Rueben (Ruth), Floyd (Virge), Arnold (Shirley), Ken, Lyle (Mary Ann), and Dorothy.
The family would like to thank the phenomenal staff at River Run Assisted Living for their extraordinary and loving care for our mom and grandma over the past 13 years.
We would also like to thank Fr. Robert Schaller for his pastoral visits as well as her team at Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for their compassionate care.

To all Jeanette's sons & daughters: I'm so sorry to hear the loss of your mother. She was a delightful Aunt and so ambitious. Jeanette was there for us when my father passed away, which very much appreciated.
