Jeffrey P. Dixon
Bay City, Michigan
Jeffrey "Jeff" Dixon, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at the age of 61, in his hometown of Bay City, Michigan. Born on March 6, 1964, to Jerry and Patricia Dixon, Jeff was a lifelong resident of Bay City, where he cultivated a life filled with love, laughter, and the simple pleasures that he so dearly enjoyed.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Linda (View) Dixon, his daughters Cassidy Dixon and Jessica (William) Shorkey, and his precious granddaughter Sophia Ann Shorkey. He was a family man through and through, a role model who leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion. His mother, Patricia (Ed) Dixon Abbott, brother Derek (Rachel) Dixon, and sister Kelly Peckham, aunt Judy Smith, Uncle Al (Barb) Dixon and several nieces and nephews will remember him as the glue that held their family together. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Dixon, his in-laws, Charles and Eva View, and his brother-in-law Dave Peckham.
Professionally, Jeff was a highly respected certified diesel mechanic, a career that showcased his exceptional skill and dedication, also working at Northern Bar His work was not merely a job but a passion, as he took great pride in the intricate details and complexities of his craft. Jeff's colleagues will remember him as a man who was always willing to lend a hand and share his vast knowledge with others.
Jeff's interests painted the picture of a man who embraced the great outdoors and the thrills of competition. An avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, he found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. A true sports enthusiast, Jeff never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams-the NASCAR drivers, the Detroit Lions, Michigan football, and the Detroit Tigers. His love for sports was only matched by his love for fixing and repairing cars, a skill he often shared with friends and family.
The Man Cave, Jeff's garage, was his sanctuary-a place where he spent countless hours tinkering, laughing, and creating memories with loved ones. It was here that he forged unbreakable bonds over shared interests, jokes, and the occasional cold beverage. His four-legged companions, Brutus the dog and Callie Mae the cat, were never far from his side, providing comfort and companionship throughout his life.
Those who knew Jeff would describe him as friendly, loving, and handy. He was the kind of person who greeted everyone with a warm smile and was always ready to help, no matter the task. His hands were rarely still, as he was often found fixing something that was broken, improving something that was working, or creating something new for those he loved.
Jeff Dixon lived a life that was rich in experiences and abundant in love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His warmth, generosity, and the countless memories he created will be cherished forever.
Funeral service will be on Monday March 31, 2025 at 7pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Edward Abbott presiding. Visitation will be on Monday from 2pm till time of service. In honor of Jeff's favorite teams, the family has asked to wear his favorite teams, University of Michigan, Detroit Lions, or Detroit Tigers. Memorials in Jeff's name the family has asked to be directed toward family wishes.
