Jeffrey D. Snyder

Jeffrey David Snyder, 64, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully on January 4, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 21, 1958, Jeff is preceded in death by his parents Betty Snyder and David Snyder. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Mock Snyder, and sons Patrick Snyder of Fort Worth, TX and Nathan Snyder (Jeff's beloved daughter-in-law Andrea). Also left to cherish his memory are his brother James Snyder; sister Joan Bariahtaris (Ken) of Morristown, NJ; niece Christine Bariahtaris (Tom and great nephew Teddy) of West Hartford, CT; nephew Andrew Bariahtaris of Washington, DC; extended Mock family and many dear cousins and friends.
Jeff graduated from the University of Louisville with a BSC in Business and worked locally in the HVAC industry for many years. A great cook and famous grill master, Chef Jeff was a lover of fine food and bourbon and was a most hospitable host. Jeff was all about sports. An avid UofL fan, he attended many games with his brother Jimmy and was known for his color commentary when it came to his Cardinals. Jeff excelled at basketball in high school and over the years enjoyed playing competitive volleyball, hitting the ski slopes and being the skipper of his wooden Chris Craft on the Ohio River. He was also an avid Indy 500 and Formula 1 fan. Amazingly, Jeff attended 40 Indy 500s during his lifetime. Always the entertainer, he was endearingly known for his oratory skills reciting quotable quotes and famous movie lines in fine fashion. Jeff will be forever loved and missed by his Royal Avenue crew and Atherton classmates, a testimony to the loyalty he has shown to all of his dear friends and family.
Visitation is to take place at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home - St. Matthews, 3711 Lexington Rd, on January 9th from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Jeff's life will be held on January 10th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Rd at 11 am. with inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Baptist Hospital Palliative Care staff for the compassionate care given Jeff and the family during his last days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to a charity of your choice.
