We are heartbroken to share that Jeffrey Nelson Theiler passed unexpectedly on October 24, 2024 at the age of 51 years.

Jeff was born on July 31, 1973 to Carl Frederick Theiler and Pamela Nelson Theiler in Geneva, Switzerland. As a baby, Jeff and his family moved to Massachusetts where he was raised until adulthood. He was a devoted brother to his older sister, Wendy, and a loving son to his parents.

Jeff attended Lincoln-Sudbury High School and then graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BS in Biology. He continued his education by earning a Masters in Public Health at Tulane University, and a Masters in Business Management at UNC. Jeff spent the past decades working as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers and Bank of America, a Senior Research Analyst for Green Street Advisors, and most recently as a REIT CFO for Physicians Realty Trust. He was known for his exceptional intellect, work ethic, integrity and unwavering moral compass.

Beyond his professional life, Jeff married his college love, Kristine Theiler, on June 21, 2003. Together, they raised 3 children: Baylie, Finley and Rowan, with many moves across the country and time spent in all continental US time zones. He worked tirelessly for his family and always told people that he considered himself the luckiest guy in the world, to spend his life surrounded by “beautiful women.” He was born to be a girl dad and embraced that role with everything he had for his 3 daughters. Even our female golden, Posie, had Jeff wrapped around her little paw, and she followed him everywhere, like his shadow.

Jeff was quick witted, entertaining and funny. He made us laugh every day, even with the weakest of his dad jokes (rated by our girls with a wooden nickel, and only the best jokes given a gold). He also had a voracious thirst for knowledge and his stack of books included everything from Grill Masters and The Way Things Work, to DIY house projects and endless financial strategy readings.

For those that were lucky enough to really know Jeff, beyond the polished demeanor, he was a sensitive guy with the biggest heart. A true softie, never afraid to share his emotions and love for those around him. And always giving the best hugs.

Jeff loved being outdoors, camping, skiing, hiking, golfing, and grilling. But, above all else, he loved and treasured being a dad and husband to his girls and was constantly striving to be the best he could be for all of us.

He will forever be remembered by his wife Kristine Theiler, daughters Baylie Grace Theiler, Finley Lauren Theiler, and Rowan Eve Theiler, his mother Pamela Nelson Theiler, and his sister, Wendy Theiler. He is pre- deceased by his father Carl Frederick Theiler.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life honoring Jeff on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at SKYLIGHT, located at 833 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204. The program will begin at 2:30 p.m. followed by an open mic and a toast to Jeff. There will be a parking lot available nearby at 990 Kalamath Street, in addition to street parking.
