Jeffrey R. "Jeff" Thomas

WILLIAMSPORT - Jeffrey R. “Jeff” Thomas, 67, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Harris) Thomas, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage.

Born on January 2, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey, Jeff was the son of the late Brody Elihu Thomas and Pauline (Clark) Thomas. He was a graduate of Central High School in Newark and was formerly employed by Any Event and Miele.

Jeff was a devoted member of Christ Community Worship Center, where he faithfully served as a mentor and dedicated servant. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing chess, fishing, boating, bowling, tending to his fish tank, and spending time with his beloved cat, Amos. Above all, Jeff cherished his role as a grandfather to his 12 grandchildren, a title he wore with immense pride and love.

In addition to his wife, Elaine, he is survived by two sons, Ishmil Harris and Sha-had Harris, both of Williamsport; one daughter, Sakeenah Williams of Georgia; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte Thomas of Williamsport, and Rosalind Thomas and Denise Thomas, both of Newark, New Jersey; and his aunt, Gerilyn Johnson of North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by three brothers, Gregory, Kevin, and Dwayne Thomas, and one sister, Marlina Thomas.

A public viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Christ Community Worship Center, 436 West Fourth Street, Williamsport. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Marwin C. Reeves, Jr. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.

Jeff will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. His wisdom, laughter, and steady presence touched many lives, and his legacy will continue through those he loved and mentored. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
