Jennifer Lynn Atkinson
February 14th, 1976 - March 27th, 2025
Jennifer (Jenn) Lynn Atkinson from Chicago, Illinois, passed away the morning of Thursday, March 27, 2025 in
Austin, Texas, at the age of 49.
Jenn was born on February 14, 1976, in Dubuque, Iowa, to her mother Catherine J. (Dobson) Johnson and her father Rick Rannals. She graduated from Glenbard West High School, and thereafter gave birth to her first child, Richard Wellin. Later, Jenn became the spouse of Eric Wellin and gave birth to their two daughters: Elizabeth Wellin and Rebecca Wellin. She is survived by her three children, Richie (Alexandra), Elizabeth (Ramon), and Rebecca (Brendon); their father Eric (Mari) Wellin, her granddaughters, Hadley Wellin and Emma Wellin; her siblings Lori Gregg, Michael (Deanna) Addyman Jr., Nicole Dobson, and James Weig; and her parents, Catherine J. Johnson and Michael Addyman Sr., and special friend, Bert Schutza.
Early on, Jenn began her mission to be the best mother she could for her children. She took them to Cub's games, to the park on warm summer days (always stopping at the ice cream truck), to Washington D.C. for the children's first visit, to the Maryland boardwalk, and out on the dirt roads in the middle of the night to watch shooting stars. Jenn was always a hard-worker, but her deep passion was for people. Jenn loved everyone without judgement, and always had a smile on her face that she gladly shared with others. Everywhere she went, Jenn would make friends. She was kind to everyone she met and had the emotional intelligence to understand and love people, no matter what. Her bubbly laugh could turn any situation around, and her optimism made you feel like you could touch the stars standing there next to her. Jenn was adventurous and loved life. She enjoyed music, especially Pink, the Spill Canvas, and country. Jenn loved watching movies with her kids like Cinderella, The Last Unicorn, and Lilo & Stitch. 'Ohana' was her everything. She loved traveling, sports, hiking, fishing, and watching a beautiful sunset. She was as gentle, beautiful, and warm as a sunset herself. A fiercely loyal baseball fan and lover of the Chicago Cubs, Jenn will be missed most at the baseball diamond sidelines.
In lieu of a memorial service, Jennifer Lynn Atkinson's immediate family will gather for a celebration of life to cherish the positivity that Jenn brought to their lives.
