Jennifer L. Baum

Jennifer Lee Baum (née Cameron), age 54, of Perry, passed away on December 3, 2025, at the David Simpson Hospice House of the Western Reserve after a long and spirited battle with cancer. She was born on January 7, 1971, in Painesville, Ohio, to Lorne Cameron and Amy Mooney. Though she arrived early as a premature and very tiny baby, she grew into a happy, lively girl. Jennifer spent her childhood in both Florida and Ohio and was a proud graduate of Perry High School, Class of '89. She grew up loving the water, the sunshine, and the outdoors -places where her bright, warm personality felt right at home.
She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida and built a career in finance, working in Orlando and New York City before eventually returning to Cleveland. Her son, Jacob, was born on December 2, 2000, and became the center of her world. Jennifer loved her work and, true to her Cameron roots, approached every role with dedication and grit.
A devoted Gators fan, Jennifer, never missed an opportunity to cheer on her team. She had a creative and generous spirit-she loved drawing, caring for her many plants, and baking pies. She also found joy in gardening and landscaping. Jennifer had a deep love for animals, from playing with lizards in Florida to feeding the deer and squirrels in her yard, and she always made sure her hummingbird feeders were filled each year.
Jennifer met Brad on Aug 2, 2018 and were engaged exactly a year later. Unfortunately, life took a change in 2022 and Jennifer's world was never the same. As her health declined in recent years, she did her best to stay strong and keep going.
Jennifer is survived by her fiancé, Brad Van Pelt; her parents Amy and Lorne and stepmother, Diana; her son, Jacob Baum. and her siblings, Lorne Cameron Jr., Sean Mooney, Heather Marinelli, and Mike Mooney. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dave Mooney; her grandparents, Zella and Edward, Doris and Lawrence; and her step-grandparents, Hazel and Vance.
A Celebration of Jennifer's Life will be held at a later date.
