Jerald "Jerry" Ray Stewart, age 74, of Webbville, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at his residence after a courageous battle with illness. Born on February 10, 1951, in Hitchins, Kentucky, Jerry was the cherished son of the late Franklin Chester "Check" and Stella Ruth Kitchen Stewart.
Jerry was a devoted family man, who was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Sharon Lynn Conley Stewart, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. Their love was a testament to the strength of family bonds, and Jerry carried her memory in his heart throughout his life.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Jerry honorably served his country during the Vietnam War, embodying the values of courage and dedication. After his military service, he became a skilled carpenter, retiring from Carpenters Local 472, where he was known for his craftsmanship and work ethic.
Jerry had a passion for the outdoors, particularly as an avid fox hunter and a dedicated member of the Blue Ribbon Fox Hunter's Club. His love for nature and the thrill of the hunt brought him joy and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts. He was also attended Cherokee Freewill Baptist Church, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment.
Jerry is survived by his loving second wife of six years, Maxine Holbrook Harris Stewart, who brought him happiness in his later years. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Jerald (Kayla) Stewart, Jr. of Grayson; Alicia (Curt) Fannin of Hitchins; and Melanie (Chris) Jackson of Monroe, Ohio. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Darrek Fannin, Kaeli Fannin, Gracie Stewart, Jacob Stewart, Kaleb Jackson, and Grant Jackson, as well as a great-grandchild, Kooper Fannin.
Jerry is also survived by his two sisters, Barbara Stewart of Lexington and Sandy Stewart of Grayson, along with a bonus son, Chris Harris of Webbville, and a bonus daughter, Angelina (Scott) Klein of Grayson. He was blessed with bonus grandchildren: Dylan Tackett, Brian (Hannah) Harris, Destiny Tackett, James Harris, and Anniston McWhorter, as well as bonus great-grandchildren, Daniel Harris and Ester Harris. He held a special place in his heart for his honorary sons, Scott Taylor and Mikie Sagraves, and he will be deeply missed by a host of extended family and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Malone Funeral Home, with Bro. David Boggs officiating.
