Jeremy Eldon Potts went to live in heaven on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was 39 years old.
Jeremy was born to James and Linda Potts on October 11, 1985 in Springfield, Illinois. Jeremy grew up in Petersburg, Illinois and graduated from Porta High School in 2004. Immediately after graduating Jeremy began working for American River Transportation Company (ARTCO), where he was currently the location manager in East Peoria.
Surviving Jeremy are a daughter, Landry Bell Potts, and a son, Jase Daniel Potts. Jeremy is also survived by his loving companion, Stephanie J. Schafer. Also surviving are Jeremy's parents, James and Linda Potts of Petersburg, a brother Jason Potts (Nicole), their children, Caroline, Charlotte, and Henry, and a sister, Lisa Walter (Michael), and their children Olivia and Kelton. Also, Stephanie's children, Morgan Sarff and Karter Sarff. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sheldon and Vivian (nee Herrmann) Potts and Warren and Hermina (nee Evers) Backs. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dog, Laney.
Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg will be assisting the family with arrangements. A visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg on Sunday evening, November 17 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Petersburg on November 18 at 10:00 am with Pastor Jeffrey Gross officiating. Graveside service will immediately follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with Reverend Bill Novak officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or any charity of choice.
