Jerald Dee Connery, age 81, of Manhattan, passed away May 16, 2025, at the Meadowlark Retirement Community – Wroten House in Manhattan.
He was born on November 30, 1943, in Little River, Kansas, the son of D.C. and Elva (Buchanan) Connery. He grew up in the Little River area and graduated with the class of 1961 from Little River High School. Jerry then attended and graduated from Hutchinson Community College.
Jerry was an operations manager for a natural gas company in refinery, pipeline, and storage settings. He worked in several Kansas communities (Bushton, Anthony and Yaggy). He valued hard work, his work peers and team members.
One of his favorite hobbies was wood woodworking. He was a member of the Flinthills Woodturners, the Woodcarvers Group and the Kansas Quality Woodworkers Association. While in Little River he was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sharon and his wife Mary; his brother Ron Connery, his sister Sandra Connery; and his son Aaron Connery.
He is survived by his wife Garalyn Avery Connery; his son Todd Connery (Paula); his twin brother Gary Connery (Terry); Jerry was particularly fond of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 9:00a.m. Thursday May 22, 2025, at the Bean Cemetery in Little River.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. Thursday May 22, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. A reception will follow the services at the church.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jerry are suggested to the Meadowlark Hills – Good Samaritan Fund or the First Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. Contributions may be sent in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
