Jerry Lynn Franks

Jerry Lynn Franks, born on August 18, 1972, in Amory, MS, passed away peacefully at his residence in Chicago, Illinois on September 25, 2025. A beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, Jerry's presence will be profoundly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jerry dedicated over 20 years to his career in the technology sector, where he served in various capacities including software developing engineer, senior systems analyst, and senior solutions architect. His work was marked by dedication and expertise, and he was currently employed by CNH Industrial as a Staff Software Engineer, contributing significantly to the field.

A graduate of Hatley High School in 1990, Jerry continued his education at the University of Mississippi for one year before completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Mississippi State University. Throughout his educational journey, Jerry displayed an inquisitive mind and a keen interest in honing his skills.

A quiet man of few words, Jerry was known for his gentle demeanor and kind heart. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, particularly enjoying coming home to reconnect with loved ones. His interests encompass a wide array of hobbies, including hiking, photography, art collecting, cooking, and traveling abroad, showcasing a vibrant appreciation for the world around him.

Jerry is survived by his beloved mother, Debbie Gibbs of Aberdeen; brothers, Tony Franks of Madison, Alabama, and Donnie Franks of Okolona; nephew, Aidan Franks of Madison, Alabama; nieces, Stephanie Watson (Sanders) of Ecru and Brittany Griffin (AJ) of Ecru; and his best friend, John Underwood. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Franks, as well as his maternal grandparents, John Hubert and Mary Evelyn Williams, his paternal grandparents, Jack and Nellie Franks, and his niece, Tiffany Franks.

A memorial service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held on October 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at River Bend Baptist Church, located at 50361 Old Highway 25, Aberdeen, MS 39730. Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring his memory and sharing their fondest recollections of a life well-lived.
