Graveside services will be at 11 am, Thursday, October 16, 2025 in the Hurnville Cemetery in Clay County with Pastor Shawn Bitner, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Henrietta. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 6-8 pm, at Davis Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.

Jerry was born on June 7, 1944 to the late F.F. and Hannah (Bachman) Ridinger in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dean, Texas and was raised in Dean, graduating in 1962 from Petrolia High school. He graduated from SWOSU in Weatherford, Oklahoma with a Bachelor's degree in business. He owned and operated the Royal Café in Thomas Oklahoma, going on to join the US Air Force, where he received an honorable discharge.

After living in the metroplex for several years, he returned to the family home place in order to help take care of his mother until her passing.

Jerry was an avid collector of toys, die cast cars and trucks. He enjoyed going to the many collectible shows, meeting people from all over. He enjoyed photography and later, genealogy research of family and friends, to the point of compiling notebook after notebook of interesting stories. Jerry loved his family and telling them about his research.

Jerry stayed very active until the Parkinson's took away his independence. Diagnosed in 2004, he endured deep brain stimulation surgery in 2011, allowing him to return to the things he loved for a temporary amount of time.

He is survived by his brother, Eugene Ridinger of Wichita Falls; sister, Deloras Plummer and husband Randy of Dean; niece Denise (Neecie) Price and husband Paul of Dean; nephew, Jared Swadley of Dallas; niece, Mindi Flynn and husband Shannon of Vernon. He is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend thanks to the many individuals that cared for him while he was able to stay at home. Heartfelt gratitude to Wichita Home Health, including Cindy Bragg, Sis Bachman, Serina King, Linda Baker, as well as so many others. Special thanks for the dedicated care given by Charis Lingafelter and the compassionate care given by the nurses at Advanced Rehab and Healthcare, and Hospice, both of Wichita Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310, or the organization of your choice.
