Jerry Rockett passed away July 5, 2024 after a long journey in the clutches COPD. He was born in Amarillo Texas to Tom and Ollie Rockett, on January 17, 1939.
Jerry graduated from Pueblo County High School, served four years in the United States Navy, and returned home to attend college. He graduated from the University of Southern Colorado with a degree in Math and Psychology and went on to attend the University of Northern Colorado with a MA degree in Secondary Administration.
He moved his family to Denver to 1967 where he began a 30 year education career in the Denver Public Schools. Retiring from DPS he enjoyed working for the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club for several years.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Ollie Rockett. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Evelyn (Quirico) his three sons, Daren (Tammy) Edward (Jodie) Jay (Priscilla) Rockett, grandchildren DJ and Dustin Rockett, Devyn Rockett (Coleton Grothe) Cameron and Wyatt Rockett, Jordan Romano and Macy Rockett. His sister Linda Rockett, Nephew Russell (Julie) Winters Shanna Anderson and great nephew Riley Anderson several amazing great friends. Jerry was an avid reader; loved sports occasionally did leather work. He was a gentle and loving man and loved by many. He may be out of sight but never out of our hearts.
