Jesse D. Hernandez, 75, of Lee's Summit, MO passed away September 8, 2024 at home while preparing for a Sunday meal with family. Visitation and rosary will be held at 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society in Raytown, MO. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lee's Summit, MO. Mr. Hernandez was born December 30, 1948, in Mexico.
Jesse was the backbone of his family. He was Jess to his wife, Mary. He was Dad and Pops to his children and PoPo to his grandchildren. He always preferred to be at home with his family, and his family could always count on him to be there waiting with open arms. Oh, how he will be missed!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Martha Hernandez, his brother, Marcos Hernandez, and his wife of 39 years, Mary Stella Hernandez. He missed his Babe every day since her passing. We know that they are reunited, and it feels so good. We can only rejoice and celebrate that they are together again!
Survivors include his children, Jesse Hernandez (Tina), Laura Hernandez, Erica Hernandez-Scott (Darcell), Jessica Hernandez (Damien), and Gina Villalobos (Austin); and his grandchildren, Jay, Marissa, Violet, Alicia, Aiyana, Jade, Acelyn, and Karl.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mac and Velia Scholarship Fund (www.hdfkc.org), the American Cancer Society, or your local VFW Post.
