Jesse Earl McCaleb Sr, age 84, passed away on March 5, 2025, at MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston, Texas.
Earl was born January 26, 1941 in Goose Creek, Harris County, Texas. Now it's called Baytown.
He graduated Robert E. Lee high school in Baytown, TX, Lee College in Baytown, Lamar Tech, then Lamar University in Beaumont, TX with a BS in Chemical Engineering.
Employed by Diamond Alkali in Channelview, Texas and Newark, Delaware, Arco Chemical in Channelview, Texas and Beaver Falls Pa., Newton Square, Pa., and Wayne, Pa.
He married Bonnie Sue Steward August 26, 1962 in Baytown, Texas.
They have two children: Jesse Earl McCaleb Jr. and wife Denise Ellen Hallick, Sharon Elizabeth McCaleb and husband John Morris Fisher.
Grandchildren: Lucas Peter McCaleb, Jane Margaret McCaleb, Patrick Jesse McCaleb, Hannah Fisher, and Danielle Fisher.
Earl loved being with his children and grandchildren. He loved to fish, hunt, play with, and teach the grandchildren new things.
He served as an elder and treasurer of Living Savior Lutheran Church in Montgomery, Texas. He loved his church family and will be dearly missed.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents: Earl Winford McCaleb and Margie Mae Willett McCaleb; Sister Judy Lynn Drake, and Brother Steve Winford McCaleb.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at Living Savior Lutheran Church at 310 Louisa St. Montgomery, Texas 77356 from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday March 8. Service will begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow the service at Smith Memorial Park at 10129 FM 1097 W. Willis, Texas 77318. We will be returning to Living Savior Lutheran Church for lunch and reception.
Memorials marked for the building fund can be sent to Living Savior Lutheran Church at 310 Louisa St. Montgomery, Tx 77356.
Arrangements are made under the direction and guidance of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas.
