Jessica Mmakamba George, 40, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia. Born on November 23, 1984, in Savannah, Jessica was the beloved daughter of Pastor Helen Esther Emeh and Dr. Chukwudi O. Emeh. She attended Georgetown Elementary and Bartlett Middle School and graduated from Windsor Forest High School in 2002. Jessica continued her education at South University and Georgia State University, ultimately earning a Bachelors degree in Management from Belhaven University.
Jessica worked at Bank of America before devoting herself to raising her children. As a woman of faith, she found spiritual growth and community at World Changers Church International in Norcross, GA. She loved to dance and sing, and she brought imagination to everything she touched. A gifted organizer, she excelled at planning and coordinating events.
Above all, Jessica was a loyal, trustworthy friend an encourager with wise counsel and a fierce advocate for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. Jessica’s presence was a true blessing, and her memory will continue to inspire everyone whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her parents, Pastor Helen Esther Emeh and Dr. Chukwudi O. Emeh; her loving husband of 13 years, Henry Oluseye George; and their children, Jeremiah, Josiah, and Hadassah. She also leaves behind her in-laws, Mr. Babajide and Dr. Eugenia Busola George, Henrietta George, and Ellen George, along with a host of devoted family and friends around the world.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. Burial will follow the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Freedom House Church International.
