On October 15, 2025, Jesus Grijalva Gutierrez, age 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his wife at his side in San Antonio, Texas. Born on August 6,1933 to Santiago and Genoveva Gutierrez in Chiapas, Mexico. In the late 1940's he migrated to the United States for a better life with his father and two of his brothers, Santiago and Pedro.
Jesus was a construction worker, a foreman, who built multiple buildings in San Antonio and surrounding cities such as the Hemisphere and Baptist Hospital. He was a hard worker all his life up until in his mid-80's. He was a member of San Antonio Carpenters Union - Local 14.
Jesus had a green thumb, a passion for growing his lemon trees, pecan trees, a fig tree, and a grapefruit tree and enjoyed giving them away for others to enjoy.
Jesus married Lucia Paz in 1956, and they raised 6 children.
He leaves behind his spouse Lucia and a loving father of 6 girls: Lucia, Juanita, Leticia, Elizabeth, Teresa and Jessica. Son in laws Johnnie and Eric, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Carlos, Santiago and Pedro.
Jesus's kindness, generosity, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He believed in building not just structures, but also relationships and memories that stand the test of time.
