Obituary of Jimmy Lee Leaverton -
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy Lee Leaverton, age 79, of Oklahoma City, OK. He peacefully departed on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
Jimmy was the only son of Wanda (Day) Leaverton and Robert 'Bob' Leaverton.
Growing up in south Oklahoma City with his sisters Judy and Linda, they attended SouthEast High School. Jimmy was a huge part of the family business and discovered his gift for working with his hands at a young age. An exceptionally skilled auto paint and body man, besides the family business, he worked at various shops and dealerships in the metro, specializing in fiberglass, custom paint, and pin striping.
Throughout his life, Jimmy was married three times. His first marriage brought him his daughter Teresa, and his second marriage brought him his daughter Angie. He spent over half his life in his third marriage, living outside the metropolitan area for brief periods. Shortly after the death of his wife Janice, he returned to south Oklahoma City, where he remained until his passing.
A proud Vietnam Army veteran, Jimmy had a love for golfing and fishing and water skiing. He was also a talented bowler and pool/dart shooter, always eager to display his expert skills. Jimmy lived a simple life and cherished time spent with family, watching movies, and playing games.
Survived by his daughter Teresa (Michael) Farrell Sr., grandson Michael Farrell Jr., and two great-grandchildren. Daughter Angie (Chris) Hoover and grandson Daniel Hoover,.
Preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Judy Carpenter and Linda Clark, and his wife, Janice Leaverton.
His memory will be carried on in the stories shared by those who knew and loved him.
At his request, no formal services will be held.
