Joan M. Budnik, age 86 of Manitowoc, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
Joan was born on November 21, 1938 in Long Beach, CA, a daughter of the late Felix and Mildred (Charap) Budnik. She grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School. Joan worked in homecare for Holy Family Memorial Hospital and also worked 26 years for Mirror Company, in their office.
Joan was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Manitowoc Senior Center, Manitowoc County Garden Club, and participated with the Masquers for over 10 years. Joan and her fellow 8th grade graduates of 1953 always met to have lunch. She enjoyed dancing and traveling throughout the world. Joan always would say "Thank you" to anybody that helped her, and she enjoyed people and her animals.
Survivors include two cousins who assisted in her care: Corinne Forte, Thousand Oaks, CA, Marilyn (Peter) Burish, Manitowoc; other cousins, friends, and travel buddies. She was preceded in death by her parents: Felix Budnik and her mother Mildred Fischer.
A memorial service is being scheduled at a future date and will be announced by the Pfeffer Funeral Home.
