Joan Orr Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wiley Funeral Home - Glen Rose on Jan. 14, 2026.
Joan, Granny, "Granny Red" Stewart Orr, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Glen Rose, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, morning, January 12, 2025, at home with her family.
Visitation will held on Friday evening, January 16, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the Wiley Funeral Home, 504 Holden St., in Glen Rose. A Celebration of Life Service for Joan will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at George's Creek Cemetery.
Joan was born on January 29, 1936, in Keller, Texas to the late Roy and Mary J. Stewart. She lived a life marked by faith, family, friendship and unmistakable style. Joan was a proud matriarch of a remarkable five generation family! A graduate of Keller High School, Joan was deeply engaged in the Glen Rose community. Known as a true social butterfly, she had a gift for connections and never met a stranger. Joan's favorite color was Royal Blue and she loved the color red. She loved both ladybugs and dragonflies, her garden club, her church and she was known by many as the undisputed "fashionista of Glen Rose!" She always dressed with flair and confidence. She was a member of the Glen Rose Assembly of God Church. Joan enjoyed visits to the Storybook Café and, most of all, time spent surrounded by her family. Joan's warmth, joy, and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and faith will live on through the many generations she leaves behind.
Joan is lovingly remembered by her children, Debbie Kay and husband Ron Wallis, Tim Jackson. Elaine Woodward, and Darla Jackson; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren as well as by many cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husbands, Kermit L. Jackson, Jr. and Bill G. Orr and by her daughter, Starla Jackson; sister, Charlene Jackson; and by her son-in-law, Joe Woodward.

Joan was loved by her family. My mother in law, Betty, was her roommate at the nursing home. Her family came to visit and cared for her. A wonderful example for all.
