Joan was born on September 24, 1938, to Willis Leon and Nina Marguerite (Carpenter) Clodfelter, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Joan graduated from Greencastle High School in 1956. She moved to Indianapolis in 1957 and started her career at Employers Liability Insurance Company, which later became Commercial Union Insurance Company. She retired after working there for forty years and three months, in 1997.
Joan married Orval Henderson in 1962 until his passing in 1987. In 1991 she married William Stallsworth until his passing in 2000. In mid-1998, Bill asked that they find a church as he wanted to be Baptized, that church was Clermont Christian Church, where Bill was Baptized, and Joan moved her membership to that church. Joan felt with being Baptized at a very early age she needed to be rebaptized and she was in 2012 by elder Jim Shoals.
Preceding in death are her parents, Willis and Nina Clodfelter; brother, Robert Earl Clodfelter; step-nephew, Randy Long; and step-great great niece, Sophia Mae Bonomo.
At Joan’s request, there will be no calling, but a private memorial service will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park on Holt Road.
