Joann Williamson Cousin peacefully passed away on May 27, 2025 while surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born on March 3, 1947 in Orange County, North Carolina to Guy Thomas Daye and Louella Warren Williamson. She was a graduate of Central High School and was a textile laborer and also worked with Elon University within the Housekeeping Department.
Joann possessed the decorators edge. She could create some of the most beautiful arrangements and she had a knack for planning and directing weddings, catering and putting her personal touch on items. She loved the Lord and she did not limit her love to one place. She loved to worship and praise God in any way shape form or fashion that she could as long as she was physically able. She was a Minister who loved sharing the word of God and His goodness with all those she met. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Donald G. Cousin; their two children: Donald "Rod" Cousin (Nicole) and Tamara Cousin; 6 grandchildren: Justin Cousin, Ashlee Richmond, Deja Cousin, Trey Cousin, Averie Rideout and Xavier Cousin; 2 great-grandchildren: Laila Richmond and Nyomi Newman; nine siblings: Clifford Lee Daye (Deloris), Raymond Lee Daye (Catherine), George Wesley Tate, Steve Alexander Daye (Wanda), Margaret Totten, Mary Sue Duncan, Christine Black, Henrietta Stoman and Pauline Tate. Joann also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
In her passing she now joins her parents, Guy Thomas Daye and Louella Williamson and eight siblings: Charles Edward Daye, Thomas Daye, Ralph Williamson, Doretha Bond, Margerie Pickard, Rita Shoffner, Barbara Thompson and Laura Louise "Pee-Wee" Crawford.
