Joao F. Viegas, 62, of Fall River, passed away October 22, 2024 at St. Anne’s Hospital, in Fall River.
He was the widower of the late Maria L. (Medeiros) Viegas.
Born in Sao Roque, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Francisco Viegas and Maria Fernando (Corvelo) Viegas.
Prior to retiring, Joao worked for several years at the former Quaker Fabrics.
Survivors include his step-sons Joao Duarte, Ilidio Duarte (wife Juvenelia), and Duval Duarte (wife Dawn); his step-daughters Paula Da Silva (husband Joaquim), and Diamantina “Tina” Amaral (husband Fernando); his sisters Cremilde Raposo and Rosemary Paiva; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his nieces Patricia and Maria Raposo and his nephew Paul Raposo.
His funeral arrangements are private.
