Joaquin Gabe Nunez, aged 47, of Andrews, Texas, passed away surrounded by love on September 19, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on October 7, 1977, in Lamesa, Texas, to Julian Nunez, Jr. and the late Gloria Noemi Lopez, Joaquin was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew him.

A cherished member of the Andrews community, Joaquin was a graduate of Andrews High School, class of '96. After which he furthered his education at Midland College, where he continued to make friends. Joaquin's professional journey at Oncor Electric Delivery was marked by his dedication and hard work, having served in many roles before his final position as a field construction inspector.

Joaquin's life was a testament to his faith and commitment to service. As an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus, he lived his Christianity through acts of kindness and community involvement.

A true family man, Joaquin's world revolved around his father, Julian, his wife Brenda De Los Rios, and his adored children, Madelyn Nunez and Malachi Nunez. His siblings Jaime Nunez and wife Julia, Daniel Nunez, and sister Trish Cordova and husband Jaime, along with his treasured nieces Caitlyn, Lauren, Evalyn, Eliana, Jackie, Adalina "Lucy Lou" and Dalia and nephews Juan, Andrew, Angel, Adriel, Allen, Josue, Arturo and Lion, who will hold onto the memories of his funny, loving, and spirited nature. Joaquin's playful soul lives on in the laughter of his family, who remember him as the "fun-uncle" who would entertain his nieces and nephews with his "cow" rides around the living room.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Joaquin loyally followed the Cowboys and Houston Texans, never missing a game and always sharing his love for the sport with friends and family. His culinary skills were second to none, and he took great pleasure in grilling and cooking, often delivering his homemade dishes to those in need of comfort.

Joaquin's life motto, "maximum effort," was not just a catchphrase but a philosophy he embodied in every aspect of his life. He invested his heart and soul into his relationships, making sure that each person felt valued and loved. His evenings were filled with joy, whether he was playing video games with his son, Malachi, or baking into the late hours with his daughter, Madelyn.

Joaquin was spoiled by his mother-in-law, Alma De Los Rios and her cooking. He enjoyed just "passing by" for a delicious meal when he had a craving. He was also close with his father-in-law Arturo De Los Rios, learning many life lessons by his side.

Joaquin's departure from this world leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the importance of family. As he reunites with his beloved mother in eternal peace, he leaves a void that can never be filled. Yet, his spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by all the lives he touched.

Joaquin Gabe Nunez will be profoundly missed, but the memories of his life will continue to inspire and guide us. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take solace in knowing that his legacy of love, laughter, and "maximum effort" will endure for generations to come.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from five until seven o'clock in the evening with a rosary starting at seven o'clock at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at ten o'clock in the morning with Father Joseph Ogbonna officiating at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, Texas.
