Jocelyn Denise Gray, aged 69, gained her wings on April 18, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on October 6, 1955, Jocelyn dedicated her life to nurturing and educating children as a Head Start Teacher.
Jocelyn was known for her loving, caring, loyal, and happy disposition, traits that endeared her to everyone she met. Her commitment to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, leaving a legacy of kindness and dedication that will be remembered by all who knew her.
She graduated from Linden-McKinley High School in 1973 and furthered her education at Columbus State Community College, which equipped her with more skills to make a significant impact in the lives of young children.
Jocelyn is survived by her husband, Robert Gray; her siblings, Janet Tuff Steele, Jerome Tuff, Joanna Singleton, and Thea Williamson; and her children, Robert (Robin) Johnson, Michael Gray and Shannon (Delane) Hye, Jer'Rel (Savannah) Gray, Ki'Airra Gray, and Ty'Kisha Gray. She was a cherished grandmother to Shontise, Lavon, D'Naijeh, Kidan, J'Lyn, Ja'Nya, Ya'Mailah, Ki'Layah, Jashaun, Jaden, Ka'Nique, L'Jend, Ka'Ri, Marleena Mes'Sigh,Tamiya and Cai'Ro and great grand children Bella, Miquile Jr JahZara and many nieces and nephews.
She's preceded in death by her Mother, Delores (James Tuff Sr. ); Father, Earl Jones; Grandparents, Thelma and Odis Denmon; Sister Diane Jones; Brother, James Tuff Jr.; grandsons Phar'Roah Gray and Miquile Gray; Nephew Shermon Lindsey and great-granddaughter, Kaija Haskins.
Jocelyn's life was a testament to the power of education and the enduring strength of familial bonds. Her memory will continue to inspire and influence many generations to come.
