Joel Jeffery "Jeff" Padgett age 68, of Dalton, GA, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Jeff was born in Dalton, GA, on August 2, 1956, the son of the late Harley Joe Padgett and Maggie Rollins Padgett. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Jeff retired from United Waste as a truck driver after many years of service. He was always happy and loved his family. Jeff enjoyed gardening and being on his farm. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Padgett; two step-daughters, Kathy Sampson and Debbie Kendrick; brother, Bobby Padgett; and a nephew, Chris Pack.
Survivors include his seven children, Zach Padgett, Charlotte Walker (John), Jeffery Padgett, Jr. (Valerie), Beth Padgett, Casey Padgett, Pamela Gibson, and Sherrie Rhodes; brother, Pete Padgett; two sisters, Nancy Pack and Linda Larmon; three nephews, Keith Green, Kevin Green, and Ken Green; two nieces, Angie Bettis and Cyndi Summers; sister-in-law, Judy Padgett; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:00 P.M., Chapel of the Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Hasty officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Dalton Funeral Home.
