Joey Guzman Obituary
Joey was born on December 29, 1975, in Modesto to Jose and Eleanore Garcia Guzman. Joey was the third of four children the couple would have. He graduated from Modesto High School class of 1994. Joey would go on to join the United States Army in 1996 where he became a paratrooper, four years Joey served. He would also serve in the National Guard for a short time before moving to San Diego where he started his long employment with Benihana. Joey loved to cook, hed cook for family and friends any chance he got. Joey joined an outriggers paddling team during his time out in San Diego, where his teammates literally became his family. Joey loved being out on the water a few miles from shore in the ocean. Joey was a resident of San Diego for many years till his heart called him back home to Modesto where he decided his time to his family supporting his nephews and nieces in all their sports and activities.
Joey joined the Costco team in Manteca where he worked for 10 years and created many friendships and bonds before he passed.
Joey especially will be remembered for his caring attitude, kindness, and sense of humor. He could make you laugh and not just laugh; a full hard belly my side is hurting laugh stop Im crying.
Joey is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanore Garcia Castaneda.
