EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Joey Vidrine announces his passing on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Savoy Medical Center in Mamou at the age of 49. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Chris Frye officiating.
Joey was always a jokester but was also one of the most selfless, loving people you would ever meet. He had a strong love for good music and his absolute favorite pastime was playing his guitar. He also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. He was so brave, courageous and strong throughout his journey and he fought so very hard. He never complained and always had a smile on his face. It’s no doubt he will hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” His family and children were his whole life, and even though they had a little over 5 years from his diagnosis, it just wasn’t long enough for them. They were at his side, holding his hand, when he took his last breath. He was truly the love of Amanda’s life for twelve years and was an amazing father to her three girls and loved them beyond measure. He is at peace and his struggles on earth are over and he is rejoicing in Heaven. The things they have learned is to make every moment count, love like there is no tomorrow, and to fully rely on God through it all. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him, especially the love of his life, Amanda Myers of Eunice; his daughters, Emma Vidrine, Kenzie Myers, and Courtney Clark and husband, Tim, all of Eunice; his mother, Sandy Deshotel and husband, Martin of Many; his brothers, Justin Vidrine and wife, Darisha of Youngsville and Dustin Vidrine and wife, Misty of Deridder; his grandchildren, Jayce Brooks and Riley Brooks, both of Eunice; his previous son-in-law, Michael Brooks of Eunice; as well as extended family and many dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Vidrine.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm, and again on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 8:00 am until time of services.
