John James Anderson, Jr., 50, of Clifton, passed away after a brief illness on May 6, 2023. Born in Paterson, John was a lifelong Clifton resident. He was a graduate of Clifton High School and Capri Institute in Clifton. John loved all types of history but especially Roman history. He was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton and was a former volunteer at the Clifton Animal Shelter.
He was predeceased by his aunt, Tammy DiSanto; his maternal grandparents, Fanny and Thomas DiSanto and Frank Sabella; and his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Anderson.
Survivors include: his parents, Francine (nee Sabella) and John James Anderson, Sr. of Clifton; his aunts, Ruthann Anderson of Wayne; and Frances Van Riper of Elmwood Park; a great-uncle, Phil Luchese of Toms River; several cousins; his special friend of many years, Alex; and his best friend, Hazel the dog.
Services were private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clifton Friends of the Shelter, P.O. Box 4923, Clifton, NJ 07015-4923 or for Mass intentions at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton, NJ 07013.
