He was born August 18, 1966 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Gary James Couch, Sr. and Geneva Ann (McLean) Couch. He grew up in De Soto and graduated from De Soto High School with the class of 1984.
John worked as an automotive mechanic in the Kansas City area. He was blessed with a good work ethic as well as a good sense of humor. His hobbies included guns, target shooting, and motorcycle riding.
He is survived by his father, Gary J. Couch, Sr., Olathe, KS; a brother, Gary J. Couch, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, Gardner, KS; three nephews, Kyle, Gabriel, and Dakota Couch; a niece, Samantha Couch; and his significant other, Peggy Cook and family.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Ann Couch; a sister, Kim Barker-Adler; and a brother, Charles Barker.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at De Soto Cemetery, De Soto, KS. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com or mailed to Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
