John Edward Eggert, of Mooresville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on September 10, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Phillip and Lucille (Wodtke) Eggert.
John retired in 1996 after 32 years of dedicated service to Lucent Technologies, where he worked as an installation supervisor. He was respected for his technical expertise, steady leadership, and unwavering work ethic.
John had a number of hobbies which included working on anything with an engine, Ham radio operations, woodworking, working Sudoku puzzles, and basically anything that he could tinker with to satisfy his passion for learning.
Above all, John loved his family. He cherished the time spent with those he held dear and was a source of strength, wisdom, and warmth throughout their lives. John was a quiet and humble man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed it. His servant heart earned him respect from all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Mary Ann (Ewing) Eggert; his daughters, Lisa Prentiss and Teresa (Tim) Gross; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Eric, Rachel, and Michael; his great-grandchildren, Adaline, Cooper, and Dansby; and his siblings, Sharon Russell and James Eggert. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Lucille Eggert and his brother, Tim Eggert.
