John Paul Gaglioti, 55, of Simsbury, CT, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2024, with his three children by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born on May 22nd, 1969 in Hartford, CT, and raised in East Hartford, CT. He leaves behind his three beloved children Olivia, Nicholas, and Clara Gaglioti, who were his pride and joy. He was predeceased by his father, Francesco Gaglioti. He also leaves behind his mother, Margaret DeLeo Gaglioti and his siblings; Robert Gaglioti of Simsbury, CT, and Lynn Pasqualetto and her husband John Pasqualetto of Windham, NH. He will be truly missed by his beloved nephew Nathaniel Gaglioti and his niece Francesca Pasqualetto.
John attended East Catholic High School graduating in '87, continuing to get his undergrad degree in Finance at Central Connecticut State University. He had an admirable work ethic that showed through his growth and success in his financial career, most recently Voya Financial.
John valued his family above all else but most importantly, his three children. From the day they were born, he dedicated his time to them with their sports, education, and social lives. He could always be found in the stands, on the bench fired up over a terrible call, or ecstatic over a huge win.
John had many hobbies and passions. He loved baseball, continuing his involvement in the game into his adult life by becoming an Umpire for the Hartford Board of Umpires, and acting as Umpire-In-Chief for West Hartford Youth Baseball League. He dedicated his time to coach countless numbers of kids, including his own. His other great passion was playing cards. Playing in poker groups with friends, going to the casino or playing fun card games with family and friends on vacation or holidays. John had the best poker face while playing cards, but outside of that, he had the most contagious, loving, and bright smile. One place you could always find him smiling on the weekends, regardless of the weather, was on the golf course with his friends. John loved to golf whether he was right up the street at Rockledge Golf Course or taking golf trips with friends and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in honor of John on December 30th at St. Christopher Church of North American Martyrs Parish, 538 Brewer St. East Hartford, CT at 10:30 am, friends and family may call from 9:30-10:15 am at the Church prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. The family would like to send a special thank you to everyone at Hartford Hospital Conklin Building 2nd floor, where all the staff and nurses gave John a sense of safety, comfort, and love throughout his battle. Please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society. Directions and online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.molloyfuneralhome.com.

I worked with John and it was easy to talk him into joining our card game. He loved razzing Marty and even me occasionally. I met him at the track a few times and he always wanted to know if had any insight. Always fun to be with, give his opinion on whatever sporting event was coming up, but most of all, when he would host the card game, invited me in to interact with his family; he was a gracious host and his "Gags" smile lit up the room. He is sorely missed.
