John Hawkins Obituary
John E. Hawkins, age 79, of Springdale, AR, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at his residence in War Eagle.
John was born on November 9, 1942 in Granite City, ILL, the son of the late Charles Hawkins and Gerene (Allen) Hawkins. John obtained his Master’s Degree in Engineering and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Cooper Industries in Fayetteville for many years. On June 25, 1976 in Cahokia, IL, John married the love of his life, Jacquelyn Harmon and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2019.
John was a member of the VFW Post 3031 in Rogers, AR. He enjoyed all outdoors sports but especially hunting and fishing.
John is survived by his son, Charles D. Hawkins and wife Becca; a daughter Dawn R Wickizer and husband Matt; sisters, Terry Gray and Carol Allen and husband Lloyd; 1 grandchild, Gabriel; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son Timothy W. Hawkins.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale. A funeral service will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Burial will be in the Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, AR.
