John Chitham Hou

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of John Hou, age 68, affectionately known as "Amao" amongst family and close friends, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in Karachi, Pakistan.
John Hou was born to parents Lou Hua Hou and Chun Ying Hsiung on November 12, 1956, in Karachi, Pakistan. Promptly after his marriage to his life partner, Barbara Hou, on June 1, 1984, he moved to Quetta, Pakistan, where the couple lovingly raised their daughters, Serena Hou Orona and Sarah Hou. John and his family immigrated to Texas in 2002 where he continued to reside until his passing.
John was deeply devoted to his family and would go above and beyond to fulfill their needs before his own. He found great joy spending time with his granddaughters, listening to music, playing videogames, and both buying and gifting the latest tech. He is cherished and missed greatly and remembered as someone who was always loyal, generous, and at times, playful.
John is survived by his wife Barbara; his daughters Serena and Sarah; his granddaughters Cerys Raine and Rhosyn Grace; his mother, Chun; and his siblings: James, Lee, Lily, Peter, and Rita. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers or gifts that Memorial donations be sent to: St. Michael's Catholic Church, 3713 E Harwood Rd, Bedford, TX 76021, in memory of John Hou.
