John J. Hughes, 83, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Edgewood Manor Healthcare Center, Port Clinton, OH. He was born October 17, 1941 in Toledo, OH the son of Frank and Catherine (Ehni) Hughes. John graduated from Oak Harbor High School and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. He worked for Chrysler for 30 years retiring 1996. He was a member of the Oak Harbor Golf Cub and the former Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1610, Port Clinton.
Surviving are his daughters: Terri (Bill) Niceswanger of Port Clinton, Vicki (John) McCaffery of Columbus; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and brother: Michael Hughes of North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Stacy Hughes; brothers: Patrick Hughes and James Hughes.
Memorial services will be conducted 12:00 noon Monday, April 28, 2025 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH. Father Jonathon Wight will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to The Humane Society of Ottawa County, 2424 E. Sand Rd. Port Clinton, OH 43452.
