On March 20, with a heart full of love and body and soul finding courage and grace, I held my beautiful Son, John McNulty, in my arms as he passed from Earth to Heaven.Lovingly known as "Johnner " by all.. a nickname Erin gave him when they were kids..
Johnner was born in Burlington, Vt on April 4 ,1980 to John and Linda MaGee McNulty. He was a free spirit that loved life. And snowboarding and skateboarding. He taught lessons at Bolton Valley. He loved Volkswagen. Especially red ones. In 2004 he started the family business "The Yankee Pedlars Shoppe " in Essex Junction with his Mom. Being featured in Business Monday..
In 2007 Johnner was in an auto accident. He broke his neck which resulted in quadriplegic . For the first few years John used his high energy and love life to use his wheelchair and his van and go everywhere. It was very heartwarming to see him on church street with his friends gathered around him. After a few years John became tired of the whole situation as medical complications increased and John spent the rest of his life in bed in his beautiful room that was built especially for him. This room is where he would stay until his death. He was very thankful for everything that was done for him and rarely complained even though times were difficult. He had been excitedly waiting for the new sci-fi "halo "to come out on TV... his presence and kind words and his conversations are deeply missed.. John leaves his mother Linda Magee Mcnulty his constant devoted caregiver for 15 years.
He leaves his children Alex, Rose and Damon. His sisters Gretchen Marshall and Erin Mcnulty. His brothers Tom Marshall and Willie Mcnulty. And his special niece, Mckinley Mcnulty who has been by his side since her birth in 2008 when John went in his wheelchair and went to the hospital and held her. He taught Mckinley a lot about life and caring and kindness.. And Betsy MaGee a very special aunt that's spent many days with him bringing him his special requests. also Keith.. An unbelievable caring and dedicated neighbor that was available for our family and Johnner for many years. Keith and Johnner spent some very special times together till the end.
One very special lady Tonya Letourneau. She was dedicated to Johnner and our family and had amazing skills that helped him find comfort and laughter..
John was pre-deceased by his father John Mcnulty in 2019..
Our family will gather in warm weather and plant a tree in his memory at our home in Jericho where he always loved to be and wanted to stay.
