John Francis Moore, 70, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 28, 2024,  after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. John was born December 9, 1953, in Sigourney, to Richard and Mary (Jaeger) Moore. John graduated from Sigourney High School in 1972 and attended Northeast Missouri State University, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 1976.  Music played a big role in John’s life. He was a life-long member of the Sigourney United Methodist Church, where music was his inspiration in praising our Lord. He sang in the choir, played piano and organ. He also played for weddings and funerals at both the Methodist and Catholic churches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Frank and Elsa (Snakenberg) Moore and Frank and Esther (Hartman) Jaeger.

Those mourning his passing include his brothers Harold (Becky) of Columbia, MO; David (Jennifer) of Aurora, CO; his sisters, Esther (Glenn) Jagger of Palmer, AK and Elizabeth (James) Bond of Montrose, CO and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Sigourney United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 8 beginning at 9:00 with services immediately following at 10:30. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Sigourney United Methodist Church.
