John I. "Jack" Peterson JR.

John Irving "Jack" Peterson, Jr., 80, a longtime resident of Schaumburg, Illinois, was born August 25, 1942 to the late Jack and Genevieve (nee Cioni) Peterson and passed away suddenly on June 1, 2023.
Jack was proudly raised in Highwood, Illinois, and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960.
He joined the Navy in 1964, with active duty as an officer in Vietnam, and continued to serve thereafter in the reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1976.
Jack obtained an undergraduate degree from Miami University and a graduate degree from Loyola University.
He worked at Allstate in various roles for 35 years, retiring as a Senior Systems Project Manager.
Jack was an avid reader, with a particular affinity for world history, a Chicago sports enthusiast and dog lover.
He was a loving husband to Linda (nee Kozlowski) for 53 years; beloved father to Andy; dear grandfather to Brooklyn, Braxten, Braysen, and Brynlee; caring brother-in-law to the late Stan (Gail) Kozlowski; and adoring uncle to Laura and John.
Jack was also a kindhearted cousin and friend to many.
He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
A memorial mass will be held on - what would have been Jack's 81st birthday - Friday, August 25, 2023 at 9:00 am at St. Hubert Catholic Church (729 Grand Canyon St., Hoffman Estates, IL 60169).
