John Dixon Weafer, age 71 of Weymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 29th in his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born to the late John and Catherine Weafer. John is survived by his wife Donna Marie Weafer (Murphy) of Weymouth and son Timothy Ryan Murphy of Dorchester who were by his side in his last moments.

John is also survived by his twin brother Jeffery Weafer of Weymouth and preceded in death by his two sisters Kathleen Caruso of Canton and Jean Reilly of Milton. He also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Audra Murphy of Dorchester, countless brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

John grew up in the St. Peter’s Parish of Dorchester and attended Cathedral High School. He then graduated from Bentley University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He spent over forty years at Brigham’s and ended his career at Bob’s Muffin Shop. John will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and friend. His happiest moments were spent playing Thursday night cards with family and friends, winning at the casino, and traveling for sporting events on family trips.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 2/5/2025 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life will be held  in the funeral home at 9:45 AM prior to the Funeral Mass Thursday 2/6/2025 at 10:30 AM in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.

 In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or Autism Speaks.
