Jonathan E. McGaughey, age 42, left this world unexpectedly on September 21, 2023.
Jon was born on June 16,1981, in Dayton, Ohio to Billie McGaughey Jr. and Joan Sonye.
After graduating from Beavercreek High School in 2000, he obtained his Associates Degree in Accounting from The University of Phoenix, and worked as a Factory Planner at Kodak for many years. Jon was a passionate lover of all things Cleveland Browns, Halloween, the local food scene, movies, and hanging with his best buddy, his only child, Clayton. Jon is survived by his parents Billie McGaughey Jr. & Joan Sonye, his 11 year old son Clayton McGaughey, as well as Matthew McGaughey, Michael Quirk, and Bryan Barlage who were some of his best friends, along with many other family members, friends, and coworkers. In accordance with Jon & Clayton's personal wishes there will be a time of remembrance held on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at Carmichael's Pub, 3011 Wayne Ave, Dayton, OH 45420. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations in Jon's honor to The South Dayton Knights Football team.
His mother, Joan is having a mass at 10:30 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 5 at St. Charles Borromeo.
