Jose "Joe" Antonio Gamboa joined his Lord and Savior in heaven on May 3, 2023. Jose was born to Antonio Gamboa and Maria De Jesus Jimenez in San Saba, Texas on June 27, 1942.
Jose was a lifelong resident of San Saba County, attending San Saba ISD where he later graduated from. Jose began his career in Goldthwaite as a welder at Metal Master soon after graduation. He met and married his wife Florencia Coronado in San Saba, Texas on November 27, 1961, they were happily married for 61 years. Jose and Florencia had three children, Jose Antonio Jr., Jane, and Roseann. Becoming a very accomplished welder, he was able to teach this trade to his son and nephews. Jose was a jack of all trades, often doing seasonal work in Texas, Louisiana, and Mexico before his retirement in 2010 from the Texas Prison System. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and a part of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and travelling to see his family as often as he could. He also loved to cook and bar-b-que, his pecan candy and birthday omelets were lovingly enjoyed by his family. Everyone would agree that Jose had the most infectious smile, he could make your day better with his pearly whites! Jose had unconditional love for his wife, children, and grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
